Welcome to Elementary # 1
Middle Township Elementary #1 is a PreK to 2nd grade building which houses approximately 700 students. Our students are placed in heterogeneously grouped classrooms with an average class size of 22 students. We offer full day preschool and kindergarten programs.
As part of our mission at Elementary #1, each program is designed to integrate all facets of the learning experience of children. We strive to deliver a balanced curriculum with a focus on 21st century skills, emotional and social growth, and academic achievement. We promote diversity and citizenship by teaching students to recognize individual differences and encouraging them to take responsibility for their actions
Due to power outages in the area tonight's Town Hall Zoom Meeting regarding the Restart of
Schools is rescheduled for Monday, August 10th at 6:00 pm.
Statement from Superintendent Dr. David Salvo:
On behalf of the Middle Township School District, we express our sincere condolences to the family of Mr. George Floyd. As a nation, we strive to seek justice in a peaceful manner. Martin Luther King Jr. once stated, “Violence brings only temporary victories; violence, by creating many more social problems than it solves, never brings permanent peace.”
We are committed to providing a safe and supportive school environment in which our students understand that their lives and voices are valued, regardless of race, ethnicity or gender. Above all, we respect and support each other.
We all need to have courageous conversations that promote and enhance equality in our community. As Winston Churchill said, “Courage is what it takes to stand up and speak; courage is also what it takes to sit down and listen.”
