The Special Education program supports the Middle Township School District’s Mission.

The MiddleTownshipSchool Board has a clearly articulated district mission statement incorporating the expectation that all students achieve the New Jersey Core Curriculum Content Standards at all grade levels.  Also, the mission of the Middle Township School district is to provide excellence in education while celebrating the strength of its diversity and upholding the values and traditions of the community in order to produce graduates who posses a love of learning and a sense of responsibility.  This education aims to enable all students to reach their potential and become active, productive members of a dynamic, global society.

We believe in providing a variety of support services to our special needs population.  These programs include:  in-class support (ICS), pull out replacement classes, resource support classes, and self-contained programs for the multiple disabled.  The primary focus of any of our programs is to provide differentiated learning activities to meet the needs of this diverse population.  Our ultimate goal is to place children in the least restrictive environment.  If you believe that you have a child in need of special education services, please refer to the links on this website for eligibility information.

Our District Child Study Team consists of 5 Speech/Language Specialists, 4 Social Workers, 2 Psychologists, 1 Occupational Therapist and 2 Learning Disabilities Teacher Consultants.   There are 54 Special Education Teachers and 28 instructional aides in the Middle Township School District.
